Accepting Who You Are – Positive Mindset

by

Self-acceptance means accepting your whole self without judgment. That includes your weaknesses, your flaws, and difficult parts, the ones that you probably try to deny or suppress. Accepting yourself as you are is also letting go of what you think you are and who you think you  “should” be.

In this blog post, I want to talk about why it’s so hard to accept yourself, and the key to start accepting yourself as you are.

See yourself for who you are rather than seeing yourself based on how you think others see you.

So many of us spend our entire lives being someone that we are not just to seek love, approval, and validation from other people. And the more we try to appear a certain way, the more likely we are to fall out of alignment with our true selves.

You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.

Getting to know yourself will help you decrease your expectations of yourself.

Start seeing the positive side of your flaws. Many times, the things society tells us are “unworthy” or “unacceptable” are actually the coolest, most interesting parts of us.

Don’t focus on what you think the world wants from you. Focus on doing what you love to do. Set goals for yourself and follow your dreams and your own path.  As soon as you focus on loving, accepting, and understanding yourself, your life will change.

Self-acceptance is so important for your self-confidence. Accept your acne, height, weight, weirdness, flaws, shyness, emotions, and other physical and personal traits you have that are normal and human. Accept yourself as a whole. Don’t hesitate to face the real you.
