My Favourite Adidas Women’s Tracksuits For Lazy Day Lounging

by

Despite being a very active person, I also really love the lounge life. When the weather gets colder and the light fades faster I am ready for my hibernation mode to be activated. Now, I wouldn’t have necessarily put myself down as a tracksuit kinda gal. Call me a snob, but tracksuits have certain connotations that I didn’t really feel went with the look I was going for in life. In fact, the last time I wore a tracksuit was back in the late 80s when neon shellsuits were a thing, so it’s really not as though I’ve got a lot to base my judgy opinion on to be honest! My opinion changed however, when a campaign cropped up in my role as an adidas blogger, where I was asked to take a look at some adidas women’s tracksuits.

Before I chose which ones to go for, I thought I’d get my teenage daughter in on the act too. Now, if I thought I was good at lounging, she is like proper next level. We’re talking elite level lounger. There’s nothing that girl loves more than a good old lounge. I mean, all teenagers are like it, right!?! So, when I mentioned to her that I had a gift card to spend on the adidas website and would she like to help me spend it on loungewear, I’ve never seen her leap out of her bed so quick. She loves to lounge, but she loves to shop even more!

If you’re a lounger too, then carry on reading to see which adidas women’s tracksuits my daughter and I picked to up our lazy day lounging game:

Laziday Tracksuit

It’s rather fitting, that the first tracksuit I chose, is called the Laziday Tracksuit. I hadn’t even spotted the name when I decided I liked it, in fact it was only when I was sitting down to write this that I clocked it. But does it live up to its name?

Well, I think so yes. It’s super soft and really comfy. I ordered it in a medium and am usually a size 10/12 on top and a 12 on the bottom half and it was a really good fit. Slouchy and comfy but not too loose that it looks scruffy. I went for Grey Heather, which was a lovely soft light grey, but it is also available in Black and Tent Green/Chalk White.

It is so good for chilling out in. And considering I was so anti tracksuits, I have literally lived in this! Officially a tracksuit convert. I wear it for lazing around on a Sunday. Lounging watching a movie on a Friday night. I walk the dog in it. I do the cleaning in it. I wore it after I did an ultra marathon the other weekend – such the nicest feeling to change into something that is warm and snuggy when your body feels completely battered. When the top and bottoms are worn together it is totally a casual look, probably something I would only really wear around the house if I’m being honest. However, when the crewneck top is combined with jeans or leggings it raises the look a little and I would happily wear this out for lunch, or to go to a cafe etc.

The Laziday tracksuit is made from cotton-blend French terry, hence why it feels so lovely and soft. Plus, roughly 70% of it is a mix of recycled and renewable materials, which is in line with the adidas ethos and something I particularly love about the brand. The trousers have pockets, always a plus point for me, and they have a drawstring elasticated waist, so you can draw them in to fit snugly, and release them a little once you’ve eaten a big Sunday dinner. Gotta love a stretchy waist!

Energize Tracksuit

In absolute direct contrast to the Laziday Tracksuit, this one is called the Energize Tracksuit. But listen, this is all about us enjoying lounging, so yes whilst you could do something energetic in this tracksuit if you wanted, we’re going to keep it nice and chill for now.

Both me and my daughter loved this one, so we went all matchy matchy. She chose the Sandy Pink colour option and I went for Black (you can also get it in Linen Green). She’s 14, meaning the days of being ‘allowed’ to wear the same as her are pretty much non-existent. But this tracksuit was something she could handle her mum wearing… just so long as I didn’t order the Sandy Pink option too!

The Energize Tracksuit is made from a fleece blend fabric, making it lovely and snuggly and warm but also with enough stretch for you to move freely around in. It of course features the signature adidas 3 stripes, but these are stitched in the same colour as the rest of the tracksuit so it is a more subtle design than some other adidas women’s tracksuits out there.

The tracksuit bottoms are high rise, always a massive plus point for me, and are loose fit with an elasticated waist and drawstring. And the full zipped top also has a drawcord-adjustable hood. My daughter has already worn the pink tracksuit loads. Baby pink is one of her favourite colours and as soon as she saw it she was like, yep that’s the one mum. And because I went for the black option they actually look quite different, which is probably why she doesn’t mind that I got the same one!

Essentials Loose-Cut 3-Stripes Full-Zip Hoodie

As much as I have enjoyed wearing tracksuits around the house of a weekend, I am a hoody girl at heart, so you’re far more likely to see me in an adidas hoodie than you will a complete set. This was what swayed my final choice of the order. I wanted to go for a classic and the Essentials Loose-Cut 3-Stripes Full-Zip Hoodie is about as classic as you can get. I love that it goes with everything. Bung it on after a run, pop it on over PJs, style it with jeans, wear it instead of a coat while the weather is still relatively mild, this hoodie is versatility epitomized.

The design was inspired by classic sports track tops, which you can totally see in the slightly retro design. The hoodie is black, with the classic adidas white 3-stripes, and has a full zip with a drawcord-adjustable hood. The fit is loose in the body, with slightly fitted sleeves, and sits on the waist, for a really flattering silhouette.

As I’m sure I’ve mentioned, I love a pocket, I mean let’s face it, what woman doesn’t?! This hoodie doesn’t just have pockets, it has a kangaroo pocket, which if you didn’t know (don’t worry I totally had to Google it, although it is kinda self explanatory) is a big pocket, like a kangroo pouch that you can fit both hands in and stretches across the front of the garment. The hoodie is comfortable, practical, stylish, and feels like an old favourite from the moment you first put it on. Because everyone has a favourite hoodie, right? The one you always grab, the one that just feels right, the one that goes with everything, the reliable one. And this is that hoodie.

Who’d have thought I’d be raving about adidas women’s tracksuits as much as I have, but I’m converted, they’re incredible. I like to think of them as socially acceptable pyjamas. As in, they feel as comfortable as pyjamas, but it is socially acceptable to wear them out of the house. Plus, if I wear a tracksuit at home of a weekend, I don’t feel anyway near as slovenly as I would if I’d stayed in my PJ’s, it just wouldn’t be right. But this way, I can live the lounge life without looking like I’ve only just got out of bed.

Out of all of the adidas women’s tracksuits that I ordered, the Laziday is my firm favourite. Since it arrived I have practically lived in it of a weekend and it has become my fave comfort clothing for lounging in. If you’re someone, who like me, was very firmly against wearing tracksuits, I urge you to give them a try. Just be warned, once you’ve put one on and experienced for yourself just how comfy they are… there’s no going back!
