Your Eyes and Lips Are the First Places To Show Signs of Aging—This Cream Is Designed To Treat Them Both

Multi-purpose beauty products are always appreciated in my house. I can’t count how many primer/moisturizer/sunscreen hybrids are in my constant stash, or the various all-in-one facial sprays I have on my desk at any time. But I’ve never used a product that’s meant to treat both the eyes and lips—which happen to be the most delicate spots on your face—so I was very intrigued when I learned about Reflekt’s Eye & Lip Cream ($59).

Reflekt is all about simplifying your skincare routine, so you won’t find a 15-step regimen or 100 different SKUs here. It also formulates its products without questionable ingredients like sulfates, phthalates, mineral oils, and parabens, adhering to the clean beauty guidelines used by both Sephora’s Clean Seal and Credo’s Clean Standard. For the Eye & Lip Cream, the brand focused on your skin’s too most tender areas, which also happen to be the first places that visible signs of aging start to appear.

The formula heroes avocado polyphenols, which are known to increase microcirculation and fight inflammation, leading to reduced eye bags and dark circles. It also contains a powerful fruit extract complex that blends Arabian jasmine flower and hawthorn berry, which work together to target wrinkles and fine lines while also having a lifting effect on the eye contour. To round it all out, there’s vitamin C for brightening and protection, and squalane for nourishment and hydration. Clearly, these are all things our eyes and lips need—especially if you’re someone like me, who doesn’t get enough sleep and wears a lot of long-wear red lipstick that sometimes makes my lips feel annoyingly dry at the end of the day.

The cream, which comes in a little tub, has a similar consistency to a lightweight moisturizer. I didn’t notice a fragrance. If there is one, it must be super subtle. While the texture felt like normal eye cream, it felt very different on the lips, especially because I’m used to using more oily lip balms and masks that are heavily fragranced. I’ll admit, it can be pretty nice for my lips to smell and taste like dessert before I go to bed, but I appreciated the product’s simplicity. I also didn’t have to worry about rolling over onto my pillow and accidentally leaving an oily kiss mark.

I used the cream both day and night for a little less than a week. My eyes, which tend to get severe dark circles when I don’t get enough sleep, looked noticeably brighter and less puffy. So much so, in fact, that there were days when I skipped undereye concealer because I didn’t really feel like I needed it. Admittedly, it took some time for me to get used to the texture of the cream on my lips (I liked that it wasn’t greasy, but it felt a little bit like I was putting moisturizer on my mouth), but I loved how hydrated it made my lips feel when I woke up every morning. Usually, when I wake up they can feel dry and sometimes flake. It’s a great way to treat them without using an oily lip balm. Another big selling point is the combo factor. While at $59, it is pretty pricey, but it’s two products in one, and a little goes a long way. It also makes for a great travel beauty product. I packed the cream for an overnight stay, which saves space in my makeup bag—always a win.
